No Spend Days

I want to have more no spend days. Mainly I want to get into the discipline of not spending random bits of money every single day.

Yesterday was a no spend day, but today won't be. I am doing laundry (there is a laundromat in my complex which is across my front door) and it costs money.

I could have waited until the weekend to do laundry, but the stuff has been put off for so long I figured I'd do it today.

Maybe I should schedule laundry days instead of doing it "whenever I feel like it"

I want more no spend days though!

    I like No Spend Days because it makes me aware of how much money flows out on impulse without thought or plan. It does help to schedule chores like laundry so long as you have a machine load in each category like linens & towels [hot water], colors and darks like jeans & socks. It's not cost efficient to pay for half load machines either at laundromat or even home when you consider costs of water and electric.

    I tend to be lazy so I've scheduled specific chores to specific days to keep things from falling through the cracks. For example, Tuesday is designated 'Desk Day,' so before the day is done I've checked and balanced chequing and savings accounts, looked at balances and make any needed changes on investments, payed bills on-line, filed any papers that I need to retain and lastly cleaned off my desk top. Today I pitched pens that didn't work and put new ones on the various containers to avoid being frustrated.

    I like your idea of specific days for specific chores. I tried that with regard to cleaning and because my schedule is erratic some days I had no energy to clean the bathroom as scheduled. Sort of demoralizing actually. But I try to do 15 minutes a day for every task and so far I seem to be staying on top of it. Requires constant vigilance though! Thank you for the idea. I love the idea of a desk day. I need to do that.
